Earning accreditation demonstrates that UC Davis’s academic programs have met rigorous standards for quality, capacity and effectiveness. It also confers a variety of benefits, especially access to federal financial aid resources.

UC Davis has been fully accredited since 1954 by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), its regional accreditation agency previously referred to as WASC. The campus has its undergraduate accreditation reviewed by WSCUC every 10 years. UC Davis received reaffirmation of accreditation in July 2014 following a multi-year, self-study process that formally engaged the campus in reflection on capacity and educational effectiveness.

UC Davis is preparing for institutional accreditation review in fall 2024 under WSCUC's Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation (TPR) standards. Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation is an alternative path for demonstrating compliance with accreditation standards focused on self-selected themes within a streamlined timeline. This process is available to eligible institutions that have demonstrated consistent evidence of a healthy fiscal condition, strong student achievement indicators, and sustained quality performance.
