About
Earning accreditation demonstrates that UC Davis’s academic programs have met rigorous standards for quality, capacity and effectiveness. It also confers a variety of benefits, especially access to federal financial aid resources.
UC Davis has been fully accredited since 1954 by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), its regional accreditation agency previously referred to as WASC. The campus has its undergraduate accreditation reviewed by WSCUC every 10 years. UC Davis received reaffirmation of accreditation in February 2025 following a multi-year, self-study process that formally engaged the campus in reflection on capacity and educational effectiveness.
You can learn more about WSCUC’s standards of accreditation at wscuc.org.
Select UC Davis schools, colleges, and academic programs are accredited by discipline-specific accreditation organizations. Individual majors may have programmatic accreditation, which may or may not be published in the UC Davis General Catalog program description. For more information regarding the accreditations for their programs, contact the college or school; see the UC Davis General Catalog, under Colleges & Schools.
